“ Tried many more things and most of them does not disappoint: Chongqing crispy chicken, like the crispy fried intestines, is amazing. Dry pot is amazing, and big portion. It comes with lots of celery though, heads up if you prefer other vegetables to celery. Chongqing hotpot is pretty nice, but not the best. Kinda has strong fermented soybean base. Cauliflower with cured pork dry pot -- the pork is kinda an acquired taste, but the cauliflower is very nice. Dan dan noodles -- very unique, more soupy than any other, spicy and nice. It has soybean paste (or fermented soybean?) though, so be wary if you don't like it. Cold sides is great. If you like soybean curd sticks, don't think that it's vegetarian, they do count soybean stick as protein/meats. Stir fry vegetables are all amazing. ”

“ One of my favorite places to eat when I come to LA. This Chinese restaurant has some of the best cold appetizers. The meat is tender and the vegetables are also really tasty. The ambiance is clean and nice and the service is okay. Definitely a must try if you like Chinese food. ”

“ My friend brought me here for first time and I was amazed by totally different Chinese food and it taste. Never had food like these and the price was reasonable. Very nice service and would like to recommend 100% to come and try. Totally enthusiastic about these tastes. I tried Beef dry pot, stir fried pork intestine, vegetarians 3 items with Bitter grout, mushrooms and tofu, meats 2 items with chicken salad and chicken livers salad. ”

“ My parents introduced me to this restaurant and I've loved it ever since. Cold Sides: 10/5 We love their cold dishes. Their pig ear slices, beef cuts, noodles, seaweed, and shredded potato are probably my favorites out of everything. If you can't take the spiciness, they also have plenty of options without the spicy oil. We also love how they pack in their boxes! Orders: Signature noodles 10/5. Their noodle soup is savory and flavorful. I love it during the cold winter months as well. They use round rice noodles, which can be tricky to eat, but I personally love the texture. I don't love the chicken in there but everything else is delicious. I also love how they have a quail egg in each bowl. I love their soup so much, I would cook up some of my own noodles and veggies and make a new bowl of soup noodles for another meal. It's like 2 noodle soups for the price of 1! Parking: I've never had an issue with parking and had always parked on the street right outside their front door. I believe they also have a parking lot in the back. ”

“ Yunnan Restaurant has lasted the test of time. The menu has changed over the years but the 20 cold dish selection is the main attraction. The menu is mostly comprised of noodle dishes with their signature bridge rice noodle soup. For $15 you can order a combination of cold side dishes. The majority of the side dishes are a little spicy. We had the following: Beef noodle soup 4 stars decent broth, tender beef Yunnan bridge noodles with chicken broth 5 stars lots of toppings good broth 3 item side dish combo 5 stars sliced beef shank, chicken gizzards, and marinated tofu skins. Located in a strip center on Garfield in Monterey Park. There is parking in the rear of the center. Service is good. ”

“ If you like spicy, flavorful food, this place is for you! Food: 5/5 My fam and I got the two two-items combos and a Hot & Sour Soup. The combos were loaded to the top. We got one meat and one veggie option that vary in price. For meat we got pig ear and beef tendon. I know pig ear, chicken gizzard, or like chicken feet are delicacies. I was scared to eat them as a kid, but once you try them, they're even tastier than your chicken breast. Anyway, the meats were flavorful and spicy. The veggie dish we got was the peanuts and potatoes shreds. It was a nice balance since the veggies weren't spicy. The soup was delicious and reminded me of my childhood. Price: 5/5 The soup and options we got were humongous. They could easily feed a group of 5-6. We had left overs and our meal only cost $50. I hope pig eat doesn't become the next ox tail and skyrocket because of demand. Right now, this is my cheap comfort food. Service: 5/5 This place has wonderful service. The lady working the combo counter stacks the food! You order at the counter or you can order via QRCode, or you can order at the table. I recommend giving this place a try especially if you never tried northern Chinese food. ”
